Matcha Tea Ceremony
& Gong Bath

A mindful beginning to the day through tea, stillness, and sound.
This immersive experience combines a traditional matcha Tea Ceremony with a restorative Gong Bath, supporting both presence and deep relaxation. The ceremony begins with the mindful preparation of matcha, inviting clarity, focus, and connection through ritual and shared attention. The experience then flows into a Gong Bath, where sound and vibration gently encourage the body and mind to soften, release, and rest. Together, these practices offer a journey from awakening the senses and settling into stillness.
Location: Sound Studio, Chesham

About This Event
Begin your day with a gentle morning of stillness, ritual, and sound.
We begin with a 40-minute Matcha tea ceremony, a slow and mindful experience designed to help you arrive fully in the present moment. Using high-quality Matcha sourced from Japan, this ceremony offers a quiet opportunity to step away from distractions and connect with a more grounded pace.
Traditionally cherished in Japanese tea culture, Matcha invites a unique balance of calm awareness and gentle clarity. Through the careful preparation and sharing of tea, you are encouraged to slow down, engage your senses, and embrace the simplicity of the moment.
The Tea Ceremony creates a peaceful space where there is nothing to achieve and nowhere else to be. It is a time to settle into stillness, cultivate mindfulness, and begin the day with intention and presence.
From there, we will gently transition into a deeply relaxing Gong Bath. As you rest comfortably, the sounds and vibrations of the gongs will wash through the space, supporting relaxation, stillness, and a sense of inner spaciousness. The combination of tea and sound creates a natural journey from presence into deep rest.
This event is limited to just 5 participants, allowing for a more intimate experience than larger group sessions. The small group size creates a quieter atmosphere and gives each person more space to settle deeply into the experience and fully immerse themselves in the practice.
This event is in collaboration with hereshelen.

The tea ceremony is a mindful practice that engages all of the senses. The subtle aromas of the tea, the natural scent of the tea room, and the atmosphere of quiet contemplation are important elements of the experience. Strong fragrances can interfere with these delicate sensory aspects and may distract both you and other participants from the meditative nature of the ceremony.
Please note access to the sound studio is by stairs only.
